Yogurt Green Banana Smoothie

  • sprouts – 1 handful
  • strawberries – 1/2 cup
  • banana – 1 small
  • Greek yogurt – 1/2 cup
  • flax seeds – tbsp
  • spinach or kale – 1 handful
  • Place all of the ingredients into a blender, blend and enjoy!

In addition to walking I really like bike riding for weight loss exercise. One of the great things about stationary bikes is that they do not take up a lot of space in the house and you could place it in front of the TV at night and get your exercise done while you are watching your favorite television shows.

There are certain fat burning zones that are determined by your heart rate and we review this with our weight loss patients when we consult them. The beginning phase of the exercise is usually low intensity cardio to focus on losing pounds and inches and then when we get close to our weight loss goal we usually can start some type of exercise to tone the body. Trying to burn fat and build muscle at the same time becomes more difficult as we get older. This is simply because our hormone levels decrease as we get older.
